Share your quality surplus food with
people who can use it

We’ve recently partnered with Fresh Food Connect, an organization that allows local gardeners to share their beautiful food abundance with their community! You can download the app and register your own garden by clicking HERE.

Thank you to our community gardeners and to Fresh Food Connect for helping us get fresh food to the people who need it most!

You should not have to

toss out excess food.

We know how disappointing it can be to have to throw out perfectly good food because you had too much.

Your excess food doesn’t have to be thrown away. We partner with restaurants, companies, and organizations to pick up your excess food for redistribution to our neighbors in need.

Good Neighbors NY partners with Vestal Food Pantry!

The Good Neighbors NY branch is a proud partner of the Vestal Food Pantry! The food pantry is open from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays after school in the front entrance of the high school.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of donations do you accept?
Good Neighbors accepts donations of both perishable and nonperishable food, which then get distributed to our nonprofit partners, including pantries, shelters and other food ministries as well as going directly to food insecure familes.

Anything from a single tray of sandwiches or a few canned items, to large pallets of food can be donated. In general, all food is kept within the local community from where it was donated. We also accept hygiene items, pet food, and baby food.

Will this work for my business?
If you are a food business—grocer, market, distributor, restaurant, corporate cafeteria, school or other food vendor—and would like to donate, we are happy to be a resource! Your donation can help reduce hunger immediately.

What if I made extra food or my backyard produce garden is abundant?
If you’re an individual with food, backyard produce or other items to donate, you may drop off at our office by appointment or we can schedule for you to meet up with a volunteer.

“We have days when we make too much food and inevitably have to throw it away. This is where Good Neighbors came to the rescue! We text them to coordinate a food pick-up time. It makes it so easy for me and the team loves doing it because we know it’s going to local nonprofits in need.”
